We moved to our home in Victoria Grove in June 2003. Previously, we never had any problems with the landscaping on this slope, which is across the gully from our house. But in July 2022, I noticed a lot of dead and dying brush, which appeared to be from lack of water. I expressed my concerns to one of our current Board Members and also logged in a maintenance request on the StoneKastle Web Portal.
Note - This area is considered to be a 'Very High Fire Hazard Area', and our Home Insurance has almost double in price over the last couple of years because of that designation. From what I understand, the Board decided not to take any action at the time and after the heavy winter rains, you can see the erosion damage and all the dead brush that was never removed.
After I again brought it to the Board's Attention in April 2023, they realized the extent of the damage. Work is currently under way at a cost of $27,600. (I believe that a lot of this damage could have been avoided if the Board had taken action last summer.)
